Installation & Setup Guides

Installation & Setup Guides

Multi-room audio and integrated home music systems may seem complicated, but thanks to modular products like Sonos, it's never been easier to create great sounding invisible audio solutions. And even a Dolby Atmos multi-channel surround sound system is relatively easy to install and setup if you know the basics.

To help our customers with their projects we've put together a range of useful documents including wiring diagrams, speaker layouts, and setup guides. Of course we're always on-hand to offer guidance and installation advice should you need it, but the following information is a useful resource to anyone embarking on a home audio project.

Stereo Music Systems

  • Sonos Amp Wiring & Features

    Sonos Amp Wiring & Features

The Sonos Amp is arguably one of the best wireless streaming amplifiers on the market. Paired with in-ceiling speakers it's a great way to listen to music in any room. Take a look at our Sonos Amp connection guide and explore its many features to maximise your listening pleasure.

  • 2-Way Speaker Switch

    2-Way Speaker Switch

Wiring multiple pairs of speakers to a single amplifier via a speaker switch provides useful on/off control for separate audio zones (such as a kitchen/outdoor area). However please note that speaker switches will not provide independent source or volume controls for each zone.

  • Stereo Amp & 4 Speakers

    Stereo Amp & 4 Speakers

In larger areas such as open plan kitchens it is usually necessary to have more than 2 speakers. Most amplifiers can power 4 speakers in this situation (2 left & 2 right channels). Parallel wiring like this is acceptable with 8 ohm speakers. If you have 4-6 ohm speakers please wire in series or use a speaker switch for load matching.
